The term "plastic surgery" refers to both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Fetter is skilled in both types. Cosmetic surgery is generally sought by patients to improve their appearance, and is usually not covered by insurance. Reconstructive surgery often repairs damage from disease, surgery, injury, or some problem present from birth. Such surgery usually restores function to the body and is often covered by medical insurance. Some procedures fall into a gray area between the two, and may or may not be covered.
Dr. Fetter specializes in microsurgery of the hand and reconstructive surgeries to correct the effects of diseases and injuries.
He is also experienced and skilled at cosmetic procedures such as facelifts, nose and ear surgery, liposuction, breast augmentation and lifts, tummy tucks, and treatment for spider veins. Dr. Fetter also performs emergency plastic surgery for traumatic injuries, as well as surgery to correct work-related disorders of the hand.
